What is a personal cgi-bin directory? |

Oftentimes, a website will require a specially designed program, called a CGI program, to run on the server. Common uses of such a program include the processing of form data, guestbooks, counters, database access, and more. Such programs are usually stored in a unique directory by the name of "cgi-bin." All SightSpecific hosted websites contain a cgi-bin directory into which they may place any CGI programs that they desire. These programs will be available only to your site and may be customized to meet your website's specific requirements. Should you require a CGI program for your website, there are numerous websites that offer common CGI programs freely.
